Timeless elegance, vibrant luxury, and effortless relaxtion on the island of the winds.
The Island
Nestled in the Aegean Sea, Mykonos combines striking natural beauty with a relaxed, elegant atmosphere. Known as the island of the winds, it is defined by the strong meltemi breezes that blow across its hills, turning the old windmills and keeping the air clear and fresh. The island has a distinctive aesthetic, with sun-bleached white houses and blue shutters lining the narrow, winding streets of Chora in classic Cycladic style that feels both timeless and modern.
By day, the beaches become the main attraction of the island, offering everything from peaceful stretches of sand with crystal-clear water to more social spots full of energy and music. Mykonos offers a nice mix of experiences. You can wander through Chora’s pretty streets at sunset, visit small chapels perched on the hills, explore historic sites from centuries past, and enjoy simple, fresh meals centered on seafood and local ingredients.
Luxury is woven into the island without feeling forced. You’ll find private villas with sea views, stylish boutique hotels, and yachts anchored offshore. Evenings often start with drinks at beach bars and continue into the night with a lively but polished atmosphere. In the end, Mykonos is more than a place to visit. It’s a feeling where the constant wind clears away anything unnecessary, leaving room for good times and a sense that you belong.
Mykonos Town (Chora)
Mykonos Town, known locally as Chora, sits gracefully above the harbor as the true heart of the island. It reveals itself through a captivating maze of whitewashed alleys and sunlit squares, all in signature Cycladic style. The meltemi winds move gently through the narrow streets, rustling flowers and maintaining a sense of freshness and clarity throughout the day.
Exploring the town offers quiet discoveries at every turn. Visitors walk past art galleries and refined boutique shops, finding tucked-away corners and local treasures. Many pause at waterfront restaurants for fresh seafood or intimate bars with sweeping views across the sea.
As evening approaches, golden light softens the white buildings and the atmosphere deepens. The town takes on a sophisticated energy that is both lively and perfectly composed.

PSAROU
Psarou Beach, nestled along Mykonos’ southern coast, stands as one of the island’s most elegant and sought-after shores. Platis Gialos
Platis Gialos, set along Mykonos’ sheltered southern coastline, is one of the island’s most popular and accessible beaches. It features a long stretch of soft golden sand that curves around a calm, protected bay. In addition, clear turquoise waters lap gently against the shore. Framed by low Cycladic hills dotted with hotels and whitewashed buildings, the beach feels bright and relaxed. Overall, it offers a welcoming setting that is easy to settle into.
The shoreline is well organised and lively, yet not overwhelming. It is lined with comfortable sunbeds and beachfront tavernas. There is also a range of accommodation, from boutique stays to resort-style options. Moreover, the shallow waters make it ideal for swimming. Small boats and water taxis regularly depart from the bay as well, connecting Platis Gialos to nearby southern beaches such as Paraga, Paradise, Super Paradise, Elia, and Agrari.
As the day draws to a close, the atmosphere softens into a calm golden glow reflected across the water. Meanwhile, restaurants along the beach begin to fill with quiet conversation and the scent of Mediterranean dishes. The sea remains gently active, with the last boats of the evening still moving across the bay. Ultimately, Platis Gialos is best understood as a comfortable and scenic Mykonian retreat.
Elia
Elia Beach stretches along Mykonos’ southeastern coast as one of the island’s longest and most breathtaking shores. Its soft golden sand meets calm, crystalline waters of the deepest blue, sheltered from the winds by surrounding hills. The result is a serene atmosphere where the beauty of the Aegean feels both vast and intimate, making Elia a favourite among those who seek refined coastal escape.
Elia draws a discerning crowd who come to unwind in effortless style, served by attentive beach clubs and restaurants offering fresh Mediterranean flavours and impeccable hospitality. As the afternoon light softens, the beach takes on a golden warmth that lingers into the evening, the perfect setting for long lunches, leisurely swims and unhurried moments that make Mykonos truly unforgettable.

FAQ - Mykonos, Greece
About Mykonos
Late June through early September brings the most reliably sunny weather, warm seas, and the island's signature energy. July and August are the liveliest months. If you prefer a quieter pace with cooler evenings and easier bookings, May, June, and September offer everything Mykonos is known for without the intensity of high summer.
Four to seven days is ideal for most guests, giving you time to explore Chora, enjoy beaches, visit Delos, and relax. Many villa guests stay longer — 10 to 14 nights or more — which allows the trip to feel truly unhurried and gives you the full benefit of having your own private villa.
It depends on what you are after. Psarou is the most glamorous — intimate, sheltered, and home to Nammos beach club. Elia is the longest and tends to draw a more relaxed crowd. Platis Gialos is well organised and family-friendly. Paradise and Super Paradise are the most social. Most guests visit several beaches during their stay.
Mykonos offers both experiences, and you can easily choose your preferred vibe. The southern beaches (Platis Gialos, Elia) are calm and family-friendly. A private villa gives you space, a pool, and complete control over your pace — ideal for families or groups wanting relaxation. The energetic party scene is concentrated in specific areas and very easy to avoid if that's not your style.
Mykonos has its own international airport (JMK) with direct flights from many European cities during the summer. From Athens, the flight takes just 40–45 minutes. Ferries from Piraeus take between 2 hours 40 minutes and 5 hours 50 minutes depending on the vessel (fast catamaran or conventional ferry). Most international guests fly into a major European hub (London, Paris, etc.) and connect to Mykonos. Direct long-haul flights from the USA or other continents are not currently available, but convenient connections are plentiful.
Mykonos is one of the more expensive Greek islands, particularly during peak season in July and August. Prices for dining, beach clubs, and transfers are higher than on many other islands. That said, the experience is exceptional — with stunning scenery, excellent food, and a unique atmosphere that most guests find well worth it. Renting a private villa often gives you better value and much more space than staying in multiple hotel rooms, especially for families or groups.
Renting a Villa
A private villa offers unparalleled privacy, space, and freedom. You have your own pool, terrace with sea views, and the ability to set your own schedule. Whether you're traveling with family or a group of adults, there are beautiful properties perfectly suited to your needs. Villas often provide better value than multiple hotel rooms while delivering a true sense of being at home on the island, supported by concierge services.
For July and August, we recommend booking 6 to 9 months in advance for the best selection of villas. The most desirable properties — those with prime location, beautiful design, and genuine privacy — tend to book up early. Shoulder season (May, June, and September) is much more flexible, with good availability often possible with 3–6 months' notice.
Most luxury villas in the Aegean Blu collection include housekeeping and a dedicated concierge. Some larger properties come with full staffing including a villa manager and chef on request. Our concierge team can arrange private yacht charters, airport transfers, private dining, restaurant reservations, and anything else that would make the stay feel effortless.
Most luxury villas require a minimum stay of 5 to 7 nights during peak season (July and August). Some larger estates prefer one week. Minimum stays are often more flexible outside of high season, with shorter stays of 3–4 nights sometimes possible.
